Happy New Year!

I've made a montage every January since 2008. Previous entries can be found under the #montage tag.

2025's was thrown together quickly and almost on auto-pilot out of a sense of obligation. Is that a sign I should stop? Maybe. That said, I can see a day in the (hopefully) far-off future where I'm glad to have these things. A huge chunk of my lifetime that can be absorbed in a glance.

Not that I'm feeling particularly 'what's the point?' about making things like this. Far from it. I think the mental space that the photo montages occupy has shifted to other forms of documentation. Most notably the little chronological birthday edits I make for the kids. Supercuts of a year. The latest one that I made for Beth's 8th birthday lives here. The others can be found by scrolling back through my Instagram. I might post about these properly sometime soon.

I'll hopefully check in here again soon. Got the usual New Year's motivation flowing through my bones.
